HAIR FAIR 2008 APPLICATION TIME RUNNING OUT

Hair Fair 2008 is fast approaching, and with as many designers out there creating hair, we know that some may not have received an invitation yet, or may not be aware such an annual event exists .

It is up to you hair lovers as well to make sure that your favourite secret hair designer, doesn't miss out on this wonderful opportunity for hopefully GRID WIDE Exposure.

If you are a hair creator or know of some, especially some were english isn't their first language, then please do your best to make sure they know about Hair Fair 2008.

Following is the actual Application; so if you haven't received one yet then copy and paste this to a notecard and follow the steps needed to be part of this amazing event. Numbers will be limited.

Also this is a Charity Event and a percentage of sales of hair as well as the full money raised on other Fundraising activities will all be sent to Locks of Love, a Charity that makes wigs for Children who suffer Hair loss from illness, this is a must be part of must attend event, and we hope to make every part of it a delight for everyone in some way, even if you arent all hair crazy like most of us :o).

Thank you for your interest in the 3rd Annual Hair Fair! This is an application only, and by submitting this does not guarantee you a spot in the fair. You may or may not have participated last year but either way we're looking forward to having you join us.

With the much success of previous years, and undying talent of designers (old and new), we have teamed up with Rezzable and expanded to 4 sims!

The expo will be taking place August 22nd – September 7th

Applications MUST be turned in by July 1st for consideration!

---------------- What is Hair Fair?-----------------

It is a Hair Expo organized by a committee of designers, giving you the opportunity to view many different stores old and new all in one place. This is a great opportunity for any hair designer to show off their work to a large audience of hair fanatics.

You also get to meet and work with others who have the same passion as you do, while working for a good cause. Last year we decided to have part of our profits go to the Locks Of Love Charity. We will be doing that again this year with a few minor changes.

Not only do we showcase hair, we also have a ton of events lined up. Name the Designer & Bandana Day just to name a couple. You will also have the opportunity to get to work with other amazing hair designers on a group wig that will be auctioned off.

If you would like to participate please read the requirements and restrictions before agreeing to sign up.

----------Requirements & Restrictions-----------

* 3-5 NEW Releases - You must be able to showcase at least 3 but no more than 5 never-before-seen hairstyles for the event. We are asking that these releases be unveiled at the expo and not placed in your stores until after the fair is over.

*No vendors, No Scripts , No Textures with a higher resolution of 512x512 , no hovering text, no rotating boxes , nothing that chats or spams passerbys.

*Be willing to donate at least 50% proceeds of at least *ONE* of your hairstyles to the charity. You must provide this wig in ALL color options as any other wig you sell. Each color, color pack, and fat packs of this wig must have 50% of it's proceeds towards the charity. We have a charity liason that will be handling all aspects of this part of the event and you will be hearing from them in future updates.

*Have room for the Hair Fair 2008 group that you will be invited to should you decide to particpate. We ask that you join and remain in the group until after the fair as it will help us to get notices to you about the event, as well as be a list to keep track of participants.

*Must be able to pay an enrollment fee. This is a one time fee that is 100% given to the charity. In order for us to organize the large amount of designers and to ensure you are commited to participating, this is a must! You will be given notice of when to pay and who to pay this fee to. There are a few different amounts which lets u choose the size of ur display area. These are preset amounts and are not negotiable.

Fees as follows:
Standard Display - L$ 1000
Upgraded Display - L$ 2500
Large Display - L$ 5000

PLEASE NOTE: Prims counts for each display-size will be given at a later time. Also be aware that the upgraded & large displays will be limited. These are first come first serve and we cannot guarantee you will be given an upgraded space. You will be able to set up your style displays as you normally do. We will be allowing one goodie box for landmarks, freebies, or any other information on your store. However if you want to personalize your space, you might want to consider a meduim to large space.

Another Reason to go to Fashion Expo

Yesterday Efe and I did a run through of the Fashion Expo thats running at the moment.

So many incredible stores there, with RFL vendors and such huge shops its a breeze to see everything all at once.

We wandered into Eros, and the designer Keth Mommsen was in attendance. Such beautiful gowns, dresses and Menswear are featured at the location, as well as this incredible FREE Gown - and guys there is also a FREE Tuxedo.

Keth was lovely enough to model some of her creations for Efe and myself and it was INSTANT system skirt love for me. I have no need for a gown at the moment, but Eros is definitely a store that will be on my Must Go To list from now on, when the need arises.

The helena gown and the one thats right in front of you when you enter - yes cant remember its name lol - are both stunners. Make sure you check their space out in depth, and don't forget to grab this stunning Gold Urbanity Gown for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Another item that was a MUST HAVE at the Fashion Expo for me, were actually a few items at Zaara's store, I got a lot of other things too, but this Kaya Onyx set is Divine, not only was it incredibly priced but when I got it open, I found not only did it have this wonderful gold combination but also my first love SILVER.

Zaara Kohime the designer behind Zaara Indian Couture is a lovely lady, and her beautiful creations will help you feel like the Princess you all are.

Another MUST HAVE are the Limited Edition Fashion Expo ONLY Long Akward Pose poses. Yes Dove Swanson has made one set of poses that you can only get at the Expo, I am using one of the poses in the shot but the others are by her too, and also available at the Expo.

My favourite Gold shoes are by Digit Darkes and don't hurt me, but the only LM I have for the Expo is the one landing at her door lol - I promise it isnt a plot. But all the stores mentioned in this post as being there, are only a few stores along either side of Digit Darkes.

The shoes are the fantabulastic Sandstorm Snakeheels, and if you don't already own these shoes, then you are missing out on something incredible.

The hair that ALWAYS reminds me of Priscilla Presley is by Bishwear, and is a FREEBIE at Savoir Hair in world location, which if you didn't already know is run by Teagan Blackthorne and Laynie Link. Teagan is in this months Dark Eden Girl of the Month Competition , and the last night to vote is saturday night with an incredible party held in the Dark Eden Club, so make sure you get your vote in for Teagan at Dark Eden store.

Yummy Yummy skin is a collaboration between Popfuzz Bamboo and Mimi Coral and is the Golden in Tan, I adore this line of Collaborations they have done , I hope to see more in the future. The beautiful Gold Hair Rose is by Essentia and I would cry if I didn't have the Gold and the Silver, they go with everything when the other 50+ colours don't match something lol.

So make sure you get over to Fashion Expo time is running out.

Fundraiser Organised by Cherry Tokyo

Cherry Tokyo is putting together a fundraiser, this is the notecard she has sent out to people and hopefully a lot more will show interest.

I am putting together a fundraiser for either Saturday or Sunday for the weekend after this (31st/1st) and I am trying to get as many people involved in this as possible. The fundraiser is for the people of Myanmar/Burma and the victims of the Chinese earthquake. We will be giving all proceeds to my local American Red Cross Chapter in Dallas, TX. If you'd like to participate in the fundraiser please let me know by Monday 5/26/8. If you want to build, or sell an item for the fund (100% of the proceeds would go to the fundraiser), or just make a pledge I am accepting any/all help to run this fundraiser.

Wheelies Concert

Tonight at 6pm SLT there is going to be a live concert at Wheelies and a SpillOver location, thanks to the wonderful Dove Swanson of Long Akward Pose who has put together this incredible Event to help us raise more money for Wheelies and provide a night of wonderful entertainment I CANT WAIT !

Shannon Carroll of Coquette has made this incredible Skully set and not only is the outfit just fab with its Skully Pink and Blackness but the BOOTS are included all for only 225L OMG , all the proceeds are going to Wheelies and you are going to want to check out all the other lovelies in Coquette too yum yum.

The set is so cute I have it on now and am at the fabulous Carnival watching clowns and Elephants and people on the dancefllor having a blast.

also the fundraiser event is tonight at 6pm at the University of Texas Austin campus, they are throwing a Carnival for Wheelies at 6pm.

WHAT: A carnival-theme event with games, rides, dancing, and entertainment to raise money for a good cause! Everything is free and donation boxes will be set up around the event to support Wheelies.

WHO'S INVITED: Anyone and everyone who wants to have fun and give support to the Wheelies club.

Sidonie Larkham of L & W Furniture has created this fabulous set of Simple Cherry furniture, the reason for the furniture was to provide beautiful pieces with low prims for the people out there that rent accomodation.

There are 35 animations in the bed and to keep prim count even lower the canopy and frame are optional , which is great. There are instructions on how to adjust the poseballs for your needs and this is just a lovely set for when you do or dont need to watch your primmage .

Thaumata Strangelove of PFE (plenty for Everyone) has made the most adorable Evil Fairy in a bottle, not jsut does this Fairy Dance in such beautiful Movement, but when you click on the bottle OH MY she has lots of naughty things to say lol.

Moire Georgette of comme il faut has created a fantastic Dress for the Cafe Society Design Challenge, this Challenge was to somehow incorporate the theme of Flamingo's in it, Moire has done an incredible job and has set it out to be another fabulous item were proceeds go towards Wheelies, thank you all and thank you to everyone involved.

First off we have NEW skins from the Eloh bases by Cherlindrea Lamont of Fab Free , isnt she a sweety, gives so much everyday and now is giving mooooorrrrre.

The adorable Enktan Gully of Enkythings has made his own version of the saying Hell on Wheels with these divine Heels on Wheels Rollerskates, ok these are too fab I want to see a fashion show where all the models are on these. They look like Cinderella Carriages for your feet, me loves.

The angel of wings Kala Bijoux of Material Squirrel has created a heavenly skirt called Valois in different lengths that will bring out the Gypsy Love in you all, I love her peasant style skirts, I wear the others often.


I have dropped a box of the landmarks I have so far of those selling items for Wheelies at my land so be sure to grab one.

Wheelies Items and More info

I have put together a kit and sent to as many as I could, the kit has the two images shown -thanks to Luicee Babii - as well as a script and donation kiosk -thanks to Mel Vanbeeck.

A notecard explains all as well as my plea.

The script in the kit is for you to put in the vendor/box of the items you are willing to donate ALL or Part of the money from. Any part of the sales is a very welcome contribution and so appreciated.

The script is Description Based , when you put items in your vendor/box you put in the script then go to the General tab of the edit menu and where it says Description under Name you type in the price/then what you want to give to Wheelies.

Example: selling an item and you want ALL money to go to wheelies and the price is 200L , you will put in
200/200

If you want to donate a part of that 200 only then it will be
200/50 or 200/100 etc so its price/cut :o) but any help anyone needs with that let me know.

Then once you have done that click on the vendor/box and it will set it to sell for the amount total . All this info is in the notecard provided too. YOU DO NOT SET FOR SALE , the script takes from the description so there is no need to set the item for sale as it will make buy and pay buttons and the buy wont go to wheelies.

ok please please if I confused you all IM me and I'll try not to confuse you further lol.

There are already items being set up YAY , and I am extending the time frame to the 30th of April so that we get more days to raise funds and people to join in.


Ok I have set up 2 Skins that are of course modded from the Eloh Eliot skins, the tone is different and the mouth there is a demo of both for free and the skins are 100L each- and yes i havent added a notecard saying modded but will try to in the next few hours lol so dont yell at me.

ALL money from these will go to Wheelies , I have set the scripts to pay anotherfundraiser account as its a clean account and then the total at the end can all be given to Wheelies in one big hopefully huge chunk :o) .

Whimsy Winx has also set out her Cloister Fire for sale which is menu driven for 18 couples poses and so pretty to relax by ,l and that and the skins are all HERE . Other items info will be added here as I get told and there are also Donation Kiosks in the Kit -if you want a kit IM me . Those are already set all you do is put down and grant permission.

Big Heart Fabulous Shoes

If you are not already-like me- a HUUGE fan of Enkythings, then today is the day to start.

I have over the last year or more spent lots of time in Designer Enktan Gully's IM Box and one thing I know for sure, is he has not only incredible shoe making skills....BUT a HUUGE Heart. Today that has been shown to the grid in the form of his latest release the Fujin Saena Shoes.

I will share with you that haven't already seen it his notecard that he sent with the release of these shoes but honestly, when someone this talented creates something and lowers the price and donates it all to such a cause, you know you just have to hurry on over and grab them.


****The Fujin version of the enkythings Saena were a request by ShujinTribble Kawanishi and his 'End of Cycle for Sarcoma' team.
In May 2005 ShujinTribble lost his wife Fujin after a near 3 year-long battle against angiosarcoma, an extremely rare form of cancer. She was 34 years old and left behind a daughter and her husband. The 'End of Cycle for Sarcoma' team rides in Fujin's honour..

Mimika Oh made a Second Life version of Fujin's favorite dress, a red cheongosam. The Fujin Saena shoes were made to go with this dress. The dress is available for free on SLExchange, search for 'Fujin'.
